The Sickies

Bailey has been sick with a cold for the last few days. Jayson was sick at the end of last week, and unfortunately, our little one got it. It's been a nightmare listening to her try to breath, but I think we've finally turned a corner. We got some good advice from my father-in-law, and then one of the sisters in our ward suggested saline drops. What a difference that has made. Hopefully, she'll continue to do as well as she has been.

I didn't know about saline drops till after kaylee's first cold so we suck out the snot which she hates and we hated doing it. My sister also told me what her doctor said what to do that is warm water and salt It works. I hope your little one feels better just keep her elevated and lots of liquid nourishment

The first time Al got sick, Jay and I were too paranoid to sleep, afraid she would stop breathing because of how stuffed up she was, so were took turns staying up all night with her. The paranoia never goes away no matter how many kids you have (or maybe it's just me), but realistically it'll be o.k.

Saline drops are good and also turn your shower on hot, close the door and just sit in there with her. Usually you still have to suck it out, which they HATE, but it'll be easier after the steamy bathroom and they always breathe so much better.

If she sleeps in her crib, you can try and put a rolled up towel or two under the mattress to elevate her a little.
