Back to the Grind

This has seemed like the longest week ever! It's amazing how much my students can forget in 2 weeks! Most were very happy to see me back, but some...all they could talk about was Mr. Taylor. Very frustrating, especially since he didn't have my kids do much of anything. From the sound of it, he flirted with the girls, asked one student if he was gay, and let them do whatever they wanted. When I found this out, I was not a happy teacher. This week has been difficult because we still have had things to do, but they got used to do whatever they wanted. Thankfully, yesterday was the last day of instruction, and the last 3 days of school are play time.

Did you catch that? Only 3 more days and then I've finished my first year of teaching!!!! I've made a lot of mistakes, but I've learned so much. I know next year I will make different mistakes, but I know what I want to change and do differently.

On a health note, I'm doing better, but I don't like these early mornings. Today has been much better when I can just chill and take my time. My body isn't liking the quick early mornings and it's letting me know as I hang my head over the potty! Oh well, 3 more days!
